Maximize the value of your geospatial imagery investment with GeoExpress 6.1 - advanced image compression and editing software from the makers of MrSID. GeoExpress 6.1 gives you more control and more freedom with your geospatial imagery than ever before. Choose between the top industry-standard image compression formats, and get color balancing, cropping or isolating areas of interest within your image and much more. Everything today's GIS professional needs to work with and produce professional, top quality images in one easy to use solution.

Compliance with Government Requirements
and Industry Standards
GeoExpress 6.1 takes the guesswork out of
generating compressed imagery conforming to
government requirements for ISO and other standards,
including Department of Defense and NGA
JPEG 2000 encoding specifications (such as NPJE
and EPJE) and long-time industry-standard MrSID.
Predefined and user-defined image encoding
profiles ensure that everyone in your organization
delivers the same high-quality imagery, every
time.

Massive Geospatial Imagery More Manageable
and Network Friendly
GeoExpress 6.1 delivers powerful image
compression with ratios between 2:1 and 50:1,
while retaining the visual fidelity of imagery.
Offering a choice of two efficient image
compression formats, MrSID and JPEG 2000,
only GeoExpress 6.1 enables you to distribute
enormous image files on any platform at any
connection speed—and, in a lossless format that
simplifies your workflow.

Powerful Image Editing and
Manipulation Tools
Make existing imagery more useful with the
powerful suite of editing and manipulation
tools found in GeoExpress 6.1 and GeoExpress
6.1 Tools. You can perform color-balancing
within an image or mosaic, crop images, isolate
areas of interest, reproject imagery from
one spatial coordinate reference system to
another, and more. If you don’t need image
compression or if you already have compression
capability but want to improve your image
processing workflow, these image editing
tools are available separately in GeoExpress
Tools.

Advanced Color Balancing
Easily correct tonal imbalances automatically or manually by adjusting brightness and contrast using histograms for each color band within an image. In mosaics of tiled images, in addition to applying corrections uniformly, you can make non-uniform corrections within tiles such as for tilt and vignette correction.

Updates to Existing Image Mosaics
Build on the work you’ve already done
by easily adding new imagery to an existing
mosaic without starting from scratch—
no need to create a new mosaic each time
the imagery is updated.

Include GMLJP2 Metadata in JPEG 2000
Imagery
In addition to such widely used methods as
GeoTIFF and world files for including metadata,
GeoExpress 6.1 supports the GMLJP2 standard
adopted by the Open Geospatial Consortium
(OGC) in 2005, enabling you to natively integrate
geospatial metadata into your JPEG 2000 imagery.
GML (geography markup language) is an XMLbased
grammar for delivering and displaying
geographic data across networks..

No More Waiting for Image Display
LizardTech's patented technology allows you to load, zoom, pan and print your imagery with lightning speed over a network, locally or online, regardless of file size. Encode your images once and never wait again.

Image Purity
Encoding with GeoExpress produces no blocking artifacts. Our patented technology is visually lossless so your images remain pure and clear. In fact, the closer you zoom in, the higher the quality.

Using MrSID is Smart
GeoExpress gives you unconstrained access to your high-resolution raster image assets. It increases your productivity, lowers costs and eliminates the headaches associated with handling large sets of GIS imagery. With MrSID, LizardTech and its industry partners have set the standard that unleashes the real power of geospatial imagery.
